Most of this level looks like Hell, literally. It’s dark, dank, cavernous and the dominant colors are reds and browns. Every object seems to be a living thing with eyes, fangs, or horns. The organic feel of the environment makes it somewhat creepy and perilous, but that’s what the creator has intended.
Progressing through the level is intuitive; you soon realize that strawberries are helpful. The song choice is great and the shuttle that whips along ceilings, floors, and walls alike is amazing. The level is long and has a lot of play variety. It’s been updated to include water although you can’t swim in it. The gorgeous visuals might be too vibrant for their own good; your Sackperson can be hard to see sometimes, but you can always press L1 to help to your cause.
The level is a thematically beautiful journey to figurative and literal deliverance. The ending is sublime, and I think it should have earned the 2009 Sacky for Level of the Year.
